Philosophy Mission statement: “We exist to bless our community for God’s glory through the missional-community movement and the Gospel-in-Life movement so that we could also be blessed in a way of making disciples of Christ and of all nations.” I believe that my team and I are called to bless “first” our community in the Tokyo-Chiba area for God’s glory. How can we bless our community? First, through the missional-community movement. The church is not a building but Christian people. So, people matter not places. Also, I believe each one of Christians is called to live as an informal missionary for his or her neighbors. Therefore, my team and I can use our houses, community centers, café, or shopping malls for creating church communities called missional communities. These communities enable us to naturally meet people outside in our community and to build friendships with them and then to get to know their needs. Therefore, I believe that God gives us multiple opportunities to share both our lives with them and the Gospel with them in a natural friendship environment. Second, through the Gospel-in-Life movement. When we live missionally in our places, we first need to preach the Good News of Jesus every day to ourselves. Only “the Hard Work” of Christ can satisfy our heart and pushes us to live as a witness of Christ. That is, Christ worked very hard by leaving heaven, coming down to the earth, satisfying each one of God’s holy Laws, sacrificing His holy life, rising again from death, conquered the death & Satan, and went to the throne in heaven. Since then Christ has been working super hard in heaven by being our King, our Savior, our Redeemer, our eternal partner, and our ultimate priest forever in our daily life. Only this Gospel can graciously satisfy our hearts and push us to bless our neighbors for God’s glory. In the end, we will also be blessed in a way of making disciples of Christ and of all nations for God’s glory. Key biblical verses: Jeremiah 29:7 “Seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.”Matthew 28:18-20 “Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”Luke 10:20-21 “However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.”At that time Jesus, full of joy through the Holy Spirit, said, “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this is what you were pleased to do.”
